About us
Handle Stones with Care
is a voluntary initiative to promote guidelines and best practices to protect workers from exposure to respiratory crystalline silica, which can occur during the fabrication and installation processes of stone products containing silica when adequate safety measures are lacking.
These guidelines are not meant to replace regulations, but rather to complement existing standards and support employers to comply with them.
The initiative will also represent a repository for state-of-the-art techniques and it is aimed at gathering ideas, inputs and collaboration from stakeholders to further improve workers’ protection.
